Empower users with self-service

USE CASE

Knowledge bases provide a central repository of information that is easily accessible to users. It is essential to keep them current since information changes over time. Comala Publishing keeps draft and published information separate, without disrupting the published content that your users rely on. You have the flexibility of publishing a single page or a complete set of updated documents at once.

What are ways teams benefit?

Improve performance and productivity by providing up-to-date information so users can find the information they need quickly and easily without asking for help from others. This can free up time to focus on other tasks and reduce the need for a support ticket.

Reduce the learning curve for employees by providing an onboarding space that conveys essential information to learn about their roles and the organization’s mission and values.

Facilitate real-time collaboration with a single source of truth. Integrate with Comala Document Management so teams can review and approve information before automatically publishing it to a broader audience. Requiring team members' input fosters better communication and cooperation.

Document publishing

Comala Publishing allows you to edit draft pages in one space and then publish these pages to another space in the same Confluence Cloud site.

Comala Publishing Cloud can only publish Confluence Cloud pages. Comala Publishing Cloud cannot publish blog posts.

To get started

Comala Publishing is designed to publish content from a source space to a target space that is empty!

Access to your published page content in the target space can be easily managed by the space permissions.

  • undertake an initial publish and sync of all the pages in your source space using the Publish space option

Synced pages

Published pages

Links to local pages in the source space are replaced in the published page with the links for the pages in the destination target space.

The first publish action creates a published page version of v.1. Subsequent publishing of the source page increments the published page version.

Synced pages & bylines

Configuring a target space adds a Comala Publishing byline to the header of each page within the source and target spaces.

Aligning with Confluence permissions, the publishing byline is only visible to users with view and edit permissions.

Document lifecycles

Version Control: Document management systems often provide version control features. Policy changes, features, updates, and procedures can be tracked, and previous versions can be retrieved. This is essential for auditing and ensuring that changes are properly documented.

Efficiency: Well-organized document management systems make it easier and quicker to find and distribute policies, procedures, knowledge articles, and updates. This improves operational efficiency and reduces the time and effort required to locate and share critical information.

Using Comala Publishing, pages are updated in a source space, and the Confluence space permissions manage access. All the pages in the space can be published in a single process when ready. Or, simply publish an individual page update.

If a review and approval process is required in the source space, Comala Document Management can be installed to manage the approval and review process for your document lifecycle and, together with Comala Publishing, is used to automate the publishing of your pages to the published space.

The published Confluence space can also be linked to Jira Service Management and used to help your customers by suggesting relevant articles when they raise a request in the portal.
