Overview
This tab allows you to set the Global default settings for workflow notifications.
Note: These settings can be overridden at space level, on a space-by-space basis via Notifications - Space Tools.
Settings
For most use cases, the notifications should be Enabled.
However, if you are using customized notifications, usually via the {send-email} macro, this would potentially cause duplicate emails for the same events in which case it would be wise to disable the default notifications.

For a user to receive any notifications when assigned to a task, approval or read confirmation, the user needs at least Pages - Add permission in the space.
For an approval a user will not be sent an email notification if they assign themselves.
