Adding a Read Confirmation
A Read Confirmation can be:
- a standalone read confirmation for pages or blog posts (where no workflow has been added).
- in the approval workflow for the final state.
A standalone Read Confirmation cannot be added to content with an active workflow.
If the approval workflow is added to the content, any existing standalone read confirmation will be overridden. If the workflow is subsequently removed, the previous standalone read confirmation will become active.
Standalone Read Confirmation
A standalone read confirmation is added using the page action menu.
The read confirmation status icon (double-tick) will appear on the page. Read confirmation breadcrumbs are also displayed in the page footer.
The added breadcrumbs will be contextualized to the current progress of the read confirmation and the current user.
Workflow Read Confirmation
Read confirmation for the final state in the workflow is enabled by a content reviewer when undertaking an approve decision that will transition the content to the final state.
The option for the reviewer to request user read confirmation is displayed in the workflow popup.
If enabled by the reviewer, on approving the content the read confirmation is added when the content transitions to the final state in the workflow. The read confirmation status icon will be displayed.
If a previously published page with a read confirmation enabled is updated, a content reviewer who subsequently approves the update for the draft content can choose to enable a new request read confirmation for the newly published content.
Any existing users who had previously been requested to confirm reading the content are retained, however this resets the status of any previous read confirmation by these users, and the user will be required to confirm reading the updated content.
If the read confirmation checkbox is unchecked, any existing read confirmation by a user will be retained.
Requesting User Read Confirmation
If a read confirmation has been added, users can be requested to undertake the read confirmation by page editors using the read confirmation popup.
The popup is accessed through the read confirmation icon on the page.
Choose Edit readers to add or remove users assigned to the read confirmation.
Users who are assigned a read confirmation are identified as readers and listed in the popup. The popup displays the current status of each users' requested read confirmation.
By default, Read Confirmation assignee(s) receive notifications for read confirmation events. Read confirmation notifications can be configured in global administration.
