Overview

A source space for publishing is configured in the space settings Publishing dashboard in the source space.

Once a target space is configured for a space, publishing is enabled for the space by default.

The Enable Publishing, Copy content properties, Enable single page publishing options and the option to Space Publish are all displayed and enabled by default on adding a target space.

After a space is published details of the pages in the last space publication can be viewed using a link to the space publishing report added to the source space publishing dashboard.

Publishing options

Enable publishing

Enables the publishing of pages from the current space (source space) to a target space

  • disabled by default if a target space has not been configured

Adding a target space automatically sets Enable publishing as enabled and allows the publishing of pages.

The Enable publishing option allows publishing using the app including single page publishing, space publishing and publishing using a Comala workflow.

Disabling the Enable publishing option

  • disables all publishing features of the app including single page publishing, space publishing and publishing using a Comala workflow

  • hides the Copy content properties option, Enable single page publishing option and, the Space Publishing option

Copy content properties

Enable/disable the copying of content properties for a page when publishing/copying the page.

By default, this is enabled.

Disable this option if you are using an app in the target space that will be impacted by the copy of the page properties from the source space page. For example, this can be disabled if a Comala workflow is applied in the target space.

Single-page publishing

Enable/disable the ability of users to publish an individual page using the Publish option in the publishing popup on a page in the source space.

If single-page publishing is disabled in a space

  • the Publish button is not displayed in the popup

  • space publishing can still occur

  • individual pages can still be published using an applied Comala workflow

By default, this enabled.

Disable this option if you want to limit the publishing of pages for each space using the space settings Publishing dashboard. You might also choose to disable single-page publishing if an applied Comala workflow is used to publish pages.

Space publishing

Publish button option to publish and sync all the pages in in the space to the target space.

After changing the target space a publishing action publishes the pages to the new target space. This includes any pages previously published to a different target space.

When a target space is configured in the source space, the target space Publishing dashboard will display a message confirming the target space as a published space and details of the source space.
