Approval workflow states

Overview

There are 3 approval states in the Comala Document Approval app workflow

Byline itemState

The Review state is the initial state in the approval workflow.

Content in the Rejected state has undergone an approval process and been rejected.

Content in the Approved state has been subject to an approval process and has been approved.

The approval workflow can only be in one state at any one time but if the content has previously been in the Approved state, the most recent Approved version of the content can still be viewed. A link is added next to the content byline item. The draft content can be edited.

When in a draft state (Review or Rejected  state) if the content had been previously approved, the content byline item will include a link to the currently approved content.

Users with View and Edit or Admin permissions will see a breadcrumb link to any content that is pending approval when viewing the approved content.
