Collection viewer

The creator of a Collection (the Collection Manager) can manage the users and usergroups who can

  • view the collection (collection viewer)

Collection viewers and collection contributers can both view the collection and the added snapshot documents.

A user can only be given permission to view or contribute to the collection by the user who created collection - the Collection Manager.

A user who has permission to view a collection will be able to view the snapshot documents in the collection using the collections global viewer.

Snapshot documents in the collection will be viewable

  • even if the user does not have Confluence view permission for the source document

  • with ‘frozen’ dynamic content for source macros included in the source document

Links in the content will still be subject to the viewer permissions on the destination url.

Confluence permissions for viewer

A user given viewer permission for a collection does not require any Confluence permissions on the Confluence source document to view the snapshot document.
