Comala Publishing is Data Center and Server compatible

Overview

Comala Publishing allows you to manage and share your space content and keep your draft and published Confluence documentation separate allowing you to collaborate on your draft content without compromising your approved public content. You can use

  • Space Publishing to publish and sync pages and blog posts from a source space to target published space on a whole space or individual page basis

  • Copy Space to make a one-off copy of content from one space to another

  • Snapshot Publishing to create static versioned documents from your dynamic Confluence content

You can also integrate space publishing and snapshot publishing with Comala Document Management to automate document lifecycle processes. Workflows can be configured to automatically publish content updates to the published space, providing users with accurate and up-to-date information

Support for Atlassian Confluence Server ends on Feb. 15, 2024

‡ From FEBRUARY 2024 we will no longer offer technical support, security updates, or bug fixes for vulnerabilities for our own server apps .

Regular security updates help protect your business from threats and vulnerabilities. We recommend moving to Atlassian Cloud or Atlassian Data Center and our Cloud or Data Center apps as soon as possible before the end of support date.

Space Publishing allows between space publishing and lets you keep two spaces in sync

  • draft source space where you can make all the content changes you want

  • a published target space in the same instance that displays the content you want users to see

Using Space Publishing, once a document is published and synced, changes in a document in either the source or target space cause the document publishing status to be out of sync. The publishing and sync can be done either on whole space or page by page basis.

Comala Document Management integration provides the flexibility to publish content to a target space.

Copy Space lets you make a copy of any space content to a target space within the same instance.

Using Copy Space creates a one-time copy operation with no subsequent sync if content changes in either space.

Snapshot Publishing lets you

  • create a static versioned document from your dynamic Confluence content

  • organize these documents as logical groups in one or more collections

  • view the static version of documents in PDF or HTML view

Confluence macros like Jira IssuesExcerpt Include or Metadata, that display live content will be frozen on each snapshot version.

Collections allows you to

  • build and manage Collections by document type and user permissions, not space permissions

  • manage permitted users view access to a versioned, read-only view of Confluence pages

Once a snapshot version is created, changes to the dynamic Confluence cause the document snapshot document status to be displayed as out of sync with the snapshot version.

Comala Document Management integration provides the flexibility to publish snapshot documents to collections or as an attachment to the page using a workflow trigger.

As a space administrator you can

  • publish content in a draft space (pages and blogs) to a published space in the same instance

  • track what documents or whole space content are in sync across your draft and published space

  • publish entire spaces and allow users to publish single pages from your space

  • copy entire space content to another space in the same instance

  • enable snapshot publishing in a space to allow creation of static versioned documents of your dynamic Confluence content

  • create and manage snapshot collections by document type and user permissions, not space permissions

  • manage permitted users view access to a versioned, read-only view of Confluence pages

Comala Document Management integration with Comala Publishing provides the flexibility to implement more elaborated approval and publishing processes
