Comala Document Management 7 introduces an improved capability - Document Activity. This requires you to upgrade your data.

Upgrading your data to use the Document Activity capability for your content not only provides improvements in performance and stability but also new features and capabilities including

Activity upgrade process

The Document Activity Upgrade Console in global administration enables you to manage the upgrade of your activity data.

There are two parts

  • pre-upgrade checks

  • data upgrade

Administration Guide Comala Document Management 7.0+

The document activity data upgrade option is only available in Comala Document Management v7.0 and later.

The data upgrade process requires Read Only Mode in your data center to be enabled during the data upgrade.

  • pre-upgrade data checks and upgrades can be undertaken on a space-by-space basis

The pre-upgrade data checks verify the data and provides an estimate of the time required for the data upgrade for each space.

  • pre-upgrade check and upgrade of a space can be completed together in Comala Document Management v7.0+.

Pre-upgrade data checks can be completed in Comala Document Management v6.17 on both Confluence Server and Data Center. We recommend that you update to the latest version before running the checks to ensure you have the latest set of use cases.

After the installation of Comala Document Management 7.0+

  • new spaces created will automatically use document activity to record workflow events and actions

  • existing spaces without a previously applied workflow will automatically use document activity to record workflow events and actions on application of a workflow

Only existing spaces with an existing applied workflow prior to the installation of Comala Document Management 7.0+ will require the data to be updated using the Document Activity Data upgrade console.
