Overview
Users now have the option to subscribe to receive notifications in Slack using the Comala Notifications for Confluence app available in the Slack App Directory.
When a user has been subscribed and is assigned a Comala Read Confirmation, they will receive a notification in Slack that contains a link to the page to read and confirm.
To receive notifications in Slack
- the Comala Read Notifications for Confluence app must first be added to the Slack workspace
- each user must then subscribe to Read Confirmations in their User Profile menu in Confluence
You can complete both these steps in the Confluence User Profile Read Confirmations screen.
Note that the Slackbot app default user is Comala Notifications for Confluence and messages are sent as @comala_notifications

Add the App to your Slack workspace
Select Read Confirmations from the User Profile menu.
This opens the app admin screen.
Select Connect to Slack from the sidebar.
If you, or your Slack workspace administrator, haven't already added the app to your Slack workspace you need to first undertake Step 1 Install the Slack app in your workspace
- choose Add to Slack
If you have the appropriate permissions for your Slack workspace the following will be displayed.
- choose Allow to add the Comla Notifications for Confluence app to the Slack workspace
Successful installation of the app displays the following in the browser
Return to Read Confirmations in your Confluence User Profile menu to subscribe to the notifications.

After adding the Read Notifications for Confluence app to your Slack workspace
In Confluence return to the User Profile menu Read Confirmations
- choose Connect to Slack in the sidebar
Below Slack Notifications Step 2 Subscribe to your read notifications directly in Slack
- choose Add Subscription
- Connect to Slack in Confluence to subscribe to notifications
- Sign in with Slack and follow the on-screen steps to connect Comala Notifications for Confluence to your Slack user profile.
Each user needs to subscribe individually to receive Slack notifications of pending read confirmations.
Notifications in Slack are received from the Comala Read Confirmations for Confluence Slackbot.
The Slackbot can be added to different channels in the connected Slack workspace
Confluence administrators can use the Comala Read Confirmations admin screen to review existing Slack notification subscriptions and unsubscribe one or all users.
