In a Cloud site only one app should be installed and enabled (otherwise you may experience errors such as multiple workflow byline breadcrumbs displayed on a page)

Current Confluence Cloud limitations mean that the page properties cannot be shared between apps and each app should be treated as a effectively a new installation

  • workflow event and actions history (document activity) is not retained when installing a different Comala Document Management app. This workflow event and action cannot be exported or imported to the page to be used with the newly installed app

  • if previous workflow history (document activity) is required for audit, it must be backed up prior to uninstalling the existing app

Data Center

The following releases and later are all data center only releases.

These Data Center Only releases, Page Activity is replaced with our all-new Document Activity capability.

You will need to upgrade your workflow data in any existing spaces with an applied workflow to access Document Activity capabilities.

Prior to these releases, each app was released as data center and server compatible. Subsequent app releases for server only will be for maintenance updates and bugfixes as we approach Atlassian End of Life for Confluence Server on .

History and Settings

On the Server/Data Center platform

  • the workflow history created with the previous app will be retained and be visible in the new app

  • if a global or space level setting applies in the new application it will generally keep the same value as it had in the previous app

 On the Cloud platform

  • workflow history is not retained when changing between different apps in the Comala Document Management family

  • if a global or space level setting applies in the new application it will generally keep the same value as it had in the previous app

Workflow Changes

  • If you are moving to a product with more features (Comala Document Approval → Comala Document Control → Comala Document Management), the workflows that were previously applied to your spaces and pages will still be active

  • If you are moving to a product with less features  (Comala Document Management → Comala Document Control → Comala Document Approval), workflows that were previously active on pages and space will no longer be active.  You must use the workflows that are included with the product that is installed

  • Changing to a new product requires the purchase of a new license/subscription
