In versions of Comala Document Management prior to v6.17.7 the following error message may be displayed on attempting a migration to cloud.
Warning |
---|
"Comala Document Management does not appear to have permission to make changes to this page. Please check that the "Comala Document Management for Confluence Cloud" App user has permission to edit pages in the current space, or permission to edit within the page if page restrictions are applied" |
This is due to a known bug , where the last state of any page with restrictions is not correctly migrated by the Atlassian Migration Assistant.
Info |
---|
With the release of Comala Document Management v6.17.7+. The Atlassian Migration Assistant pre-check Vendor App check screen now lists affected pages. These are detailed in a downloadable CSV file. |
Solution
A workaround you is to remove the restrictions from the server instance before migrating.
Solution v6.17.7+
You need Comala Document Management v6.17.7 to use this solution.
Run the Atlassian Migration Assistant
Pages with restrictions are displayed in the Vendor App Checks vendor checks screen
Download the Vendor Apps Checks download the App vendor checks attached CSV for details of pages with restrictions
Remove remove restrictions from these pages
Rere-run the migration and checks
Prior to any migration activity, we recommend updating to the latest release of Comala Document Management and the latest version of the Atlassian Migration Assistant.
Solution v6.17.1 - 16.7.6 only

If your Confluence instance is a Confluence Premium / Confluence Enterprise + licence, then from Comala Document Management v6.17.1 you can now migrate content that has restrictions. This requires manual intervention including help and support from both Appfire Comala and Atlassian. |
In cases where the Confluence content has restrictions, a CSV file and a JSON file will be generated with the required information for the restricted content.
These will be stored in the Confluence temporary directory CONFLUENCE_TEMP_DIR/comala/migration
. This is the directory defined in the confluence.cfg.xml
file, property webwork.multipart.saveDir.
The JSON file in this directory will be restricted_content.json
.
You will need to send both these files to the Appfire Comala cloud team in order to execute a post migration task.
Please contact Appfire Comala support for further details - either raise a support request or email support@comalatech.com.
