Overview

When a state is selected in the workflow panel or the (navigator panel) the transitions, state parameters, approvals, and tasks are listed in the state editor (as applicable to the state).

Choosing Transitions opens the Transitions editor

  • existing transitions can be edited or removed

  • new transitions added

When the state has an approval added:

  • the approve and reject transitions will be available

  • the select and submit transitions will not be available

Each state can have more than one possible transition to a destination state in the workflow.

To avoid the loss of transition changes in the state you must then

  • add the changes to the workflow by choosing Save in the Navigation panel

  • add the updated workflow to the content or dashboard by selecting Exit in the Navigation panel

Approved and Rejected transitions

The Approved and Rejected transitions will only be available after and an approval has been added to the state.

There is no requirement to add both the Approved and Rejected transition. Only one is required for the approval.

Adding an approval to the state restricts the choice of other transitions for the state - the submit and select transitions cannot be added.

Adding a condition for a transition

For Select transitions one or more conditions can be added that must be met for the select transition to be active.

Image RemovedImage Added

Conditions for a select transition include

  • haslabel requiring the content to have the label or labels added as the condition value

  • user requires the current user to be one of the added users added as the condition value

Checking Invert makes the condition valid when the value(s) specified is not present.

If the condition is not met then the workflow popup on the content will not display the select transition option.

For more detail on the Select transition see the state-selection macro and also conditions.
